Simon Thibault, PhD
Simon Thibault is an associate professor of political science at the University of Montreal. His research focuses on issues related to the practice of journalism in Canada, the politicization of the media, as well as misinformation and manipulation online. He is a researcher at the Groupe de recherche en communication politique (GRCP), which brings together scholars in political communication from various universities in Canada and abroad. He is also an associate professor at the UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Extremism (Chaire UNESCO-PREV), and a member of both the Montreal Centre for International Studies (CÉRIUM) and the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE).
Simon Thibault est professeur agrégé de science politique à l’Université de Montréal. Ses recherches portent sur les enjeux liés à la pratique du journalisme au Canada, à la politisation des médias, ainsi qu’à la désinformation et à la manipulation en ligne. Il est chercheur au Groupe de recherche en communication politique (GRCP), qui réunit des spécialistes de la communication politique provenant de diverses universités au Canada et à l’étranger. Il est également professeur associé à la Chaire UNESCO en prévention de la radicalisation et de l’extrémisme violents (Chaire UNESCO-PREV), ainsi que membre du Centre d’études et de recherches internationales de l’Université de Montréal (CÉRIUM) et du International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE).
