
Shree Paradkar
Shree Paradkar is an award-winning journalist, a public speaker, a race and gender equity advocate and journalism instructor. She has worked in newsrooms in Bangalore, Mumbai and Singapore. She is an investigative reporter at the Toronto Star where she was previously a columnist specializing in racial and social justice. She is also the country’s first internal ombud in a newsroom, a position created to develop an anti-racist newsroom. She was a 2024-2025 Massey College journalism fellow, the winner of Amnesty Awards for Human Rights reporting and a previous Atkinson Fellow on public policy. Shree also won the 2025 PEN Canada Ken Filkow prize for expanding free expression in Canada with her advocacy for young journalists of colour and for her writings supporting Palestinian rights.
