Lauren Dwyer, PhD

Lauren Dwyer, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Information Design at Mount Royal University, where she explores how emerging tech—like AI and social robots—shapes the way we communicate. With a PhD in Communication and Culture from TMU and York, her work digs into how technology can enhance (or complicate) emotional and social connection.

Before this, she led AI and data analytics programs at SAIT. Her research looks at the messy, fascinating intersection of tech, trust, and human communication—especially relevant in an age when even the truth feels up for debate.
